Sidney Roy Haux, 80, of Mobridge passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022 at Mobridge Regional Hospital. A visitation and memorial service for Sid was held March 12, 2022 at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge.
Sid was born in McIntosh on May 20, 1941, to Roy Haux and Opal (Bean) Haux. While Sid was still young the family moved to Mobridge where he and his brothers and sister grew up. Sid attended graduated from the Mobridge High School, After graduation Sid and several close friends moved to San Jose, CA where
After graduation Sid and several close friends moved to San Jose, CA where he was employed by G.E. There he started his first family and had two girls, Jill and Robin. Sid moved his family back to Mobridge and went to work with his father at Haux TV. He also worked for the 5-County TV Translator District for the next several years as they provided TV to the surrounding area.
Haux TV provided quality sound to the Sitting Bulls Stampede Rodeo and Fourth of July parades free of charge for 50 years.
In 1978 he had met Pearl (Schlomer) Flanagan and some 20 years later they were married and he expanded his family with two boys, John and George Flanagan. Pearl and Sid became foster parents and after several years of providing foster care, Lexi Laundreaux was placed in their care and 26 years later she is still very much a part of the family.
Sid was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Fred and sister Judy (Wilcut) Haux.
He is survived by his wife Pearl Flanagan Haux; children Jill (Chuck) Mross, Robin Haux, John (Joy) Flanagan, and George (Lisa) Flanagan; adopted daughter Lexi Laundreaux; grandchildren Emily and Bailey Chavez; Stephan, Grace, Connor, and Faith Flanagan; Khori and Shawn Flanagan and Alexander Mross.
