Don Opie, 81, of Mobridge, passed away April 14, 2021 at Avera Oahe Manor’s Haven Unit in Gettysburg following a nearly 20-year battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Pursuant to Don’s wishes, a public service will not be held.

Joseph A. Lends His Horse Sr., 83, of Eagle Butte passed away April 16, 2021 at Monument Health in Rapid City. Due to COVID restrictions, the family is holding a private, family-only service followed by a military burial at Black Hills National Cemetery at Sturgis.

Larry J. Leibel of Post Falls, ID passed away April 10, 2021 surrounded by his family. Born October 22, 1942 in Mobridge to Anton (Tony) and Frances Leibel, Larry was raised on the Leibel Family Farm in Glencross. He was the oldest of seven children.

Marjorie A. Bearsheart, 58, of Mobridge passed away March 31, 2021 in Mobridge at the Mobridge Regional Hospital with her children by her side. Funeral services were held April 8, 2021 at Oster Funeral Home in Mobridge.

Velma Irene Leichtenberg, 92, formerly of Iroquois and more recently of De Smet, passed away at Good Samaritan Society in De Smet on Saturday, April 10, 2021. A family memorial gathering and burial of ashes at the Iroquois Cemetery will be held at a later date.
