Several Dupree athletes set new personal bests at State

Tayshaun Cudmore and Maddlyn Red Bear turned in new personal best performances in two events each and Spencer Olsen added another for the Dupree Tigers at the SD State Class B Track & Field Meet last week in Sioux Falls.

Terveen-Smith, Woodward win All-Around at 4-H rodeo

Braydon Terveen-Smith of Lantry and Minda Woodward of Dupree snagged Senior All-Around honors at the Dewey County 4-H Rodeo held Sunday, May 25, in Timber Lake.Terveen-Smith won the senior boys saddle bronc riding event and clocked an impressive 4.

TL golfers land fourth in region, Thompson brothers off to State

The Timber Lake Panther boys golf team took fourth place honors last Thursday, May 22, at the Region 6B golf meet at Hart Ranch Golf Club, with two members qualifying for the State Class B finals.

Local competitors take home wins at TLHS rodeo

There was no shortage of local event winners on Saturday, May 24, when area competitors met for the Timber Lake High School practice rodeo.Roy Antrim of Faith won the bareback riding with a score of 70 while Bailey Verhulst of Reva took top spot in barrel racing with a time of 16.150.

Panther teams in top 10 at Super Regional Track Meet

The Timber Lake boys track team finished fifth and the girls team landed sixth overall at the Central Plains Super Regional track meet last Thursday, May 22, at Sully Buttes High School.Ipswich won both the boys and girls team titles. The Panther boys finished with 58.

Cowan wins State Jr. High Rodeo barrel racing crown

Timber Lake Middle School student CeCe Cowan captured top honors in barrel racing to win the gold at the State Jr. High Rodeo Finals held last Friday, May 16, in Rapid City.Cowan, an eighth grader, posted a time of 14.281 in the first go, 13.95 run in the second go, and 14.

Panthers post many personal bests at Eureka Lions Meet

The Timber Lake track team scored only two first place finishes at the Eureka Lions Track Meet last Tuesday, May 6, but they racked up a bunch of runner-up finishes, posted several personal best performances, and even broke a couple of school records.
