South Dakota’s 2024-25 bobcat trapping and hunting season opens Thursday, Dec. 26 and will close Feb. 15, 2025.Hunters and trappers are reminded that the season bag limit is one bobcat for the Black Hills and East River. and unlimited for West River, excluding the Black Hills.

Panther JV, C-team ballers knock off Tigers

Timber Lake’s junior varsity and C-team boys basketball teams picked up wins on Monday, Dec. 16, over the visiting Mobridge-Pollock Tigers. The C-team won 49-33 and the JV squad earned a 48-28 victory.C-TeamTimber Lake grabbed an early 16-19 lead and was in front 24-18 at the intermission.

Dupree powerlifters garner medals at Mitchell event

Three Dupree Powerlifting Team members captured medals in the first meet of the season, held Saturday, Dec.7, in Mitchell.Joseph Brewer took top honors in the 123.5 weight class while Jack Lawrence led lifters in the 152.25 pound category and Isaiah Pesicka grabbed third place in the 148.

Wrestlers from Timber Lake and the Cheyenne-Eagle Butte-Dupree-Tiospaye Topa (CEBDT) cooperative were among the 54 teams competing at the Rapid City Invitational meet Friday and Saturday, Dec.13-14.

Cheyenne-Eagle Butte runner Jayden Taken Alive was selected as a member of the 2024 South Dakota Class A All-State Cross Country Team by the South Dakota Cross Country Coaches Association. Taken Alive finished 11th overall in the 2024 State Class A Cross Country Meet.
