Timber Lake Youth Wrestling advances 12 to state tournament

Things are looking bright for the future of wrestling in Timber Lake after the newly-formed youth wrestling club qualified 12 members to compete in the SDWCD State Wrestling Tournament slated Friday through Sunday, March 15-17, in Rapid City.

Third time’s the charm

The Timber Lake Panthers avenged two earlier losses to Lemmon when they met in the SoDak 16 qualifier at the Region 8B Tournament last week, pulling off a stunning 54-53 victory to move on for a shot at a state tournament berth.

TL Youth Wrestling Club qualifies 16 for State meet

The fledgling Timber Lake Youth Wrestling Club got off to a strong start to begin its first-ever season and hopes to end it the same way at the SDWCA State Finals set March 15-17 in Rapid City.

Second half stumble costs TL boys in final matchup of regular season

Timber Lake took a one-point lead into halftime against Potter County in the regular season finale last Friday, Feb. 23, but the Panthers were outscored 38-26 in the second half and dropped a 62-51 decision to the Battlers in Gettysburg.

Timber Lake teams recognized for academic achievement

The Timber Lake and Mobridge-Pollock schools have been recognized by the South Dakota High School Activities Association for academic achievement in various extracurricular activities. In order to qualify for the Academic Achievement Award, teams or groups must achieve or exceed a cumulative 3.

Lady Panthers eliminated by third-ranked Harding County

After knocking off a scrappy Wakpala team in the opening round, the Timber Lake Lady Panthers were eliminated from the Region 8B Girls Basketball Tournament last week by undefeated and third-ranked Harding County. Timber Lake finished the 202324 season at 8-14 overall.
