Gabe and Deal claim gold in Hermosa

Mitchell Technical College student Chazz Gabe turned in the only qualified ride of the day to win the gold buckle in bull riding at the Battle Creek Rodeo in Hermosa on Saturday and Sunday, July 15-16, while Kaden Deal of Eagle Butte ran away with the saddle bronc title.
Korbi Heck of Isabel and her horse, Jetta, won both the Junior Girls Barrel Racing and Junior Girls Pole Bending championships on Saturday, July 8, at the Harding County 4-H Rodeo in Buffalo. Heck is one of several area competitors to garner gold buckles at the event.

Dewey, Ziebach entries earn top honors at Harding Co. 4-H Rodeo

Several contestants from Dewey and Ziebach counties topped the leaderboard in their respective events at the Harding County 4-H Rodeo held in Buffalo on Saturday, July 8, including Korbi Heck of Isabel, who took home the championship gold buckles for both Jr. Girls Barrels and Jr. Girls Poles.

Ward, Lawrence claim titles at INFR qualifier

Two contestants from White Horse and another from Eagle Butte punched their ticket to Indian National Finals Rodeo (INFR) on July 3-4 by capturing titles in their respective events at the “Home of the Champions” INFR Qualifier Rodeo held in Twin Buttes, ND, July 3-4.

Hunt leads local competitors at INFR event in Montana

Six different competitors from Dewey and Ziebach counties and points nearby finished in the money at the Northern Cheyenne Chiefs 4th of July Rodeo held July 1-2 in Lame Deer, MT. Top finisher of the group was Kanton Hunt of Ridgeview, who won the Jr. Breakaway crown with a 2.
