Peacock chosen for Dupree School DAR Award

Quality students are the beginning of quality citizens. Each year schools across the nation are invited to select a Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Good Citizen.
Lincoln and Trevor Aberle and their mom, Melissa, were at Dakota Silk Screen on Monday scouting out the Christmas merchandise. The boys were giving Mom some hints about what to put on their wish lists. They also visited the museum, where they saw lots of dinosaur bones and the T-Rex skull that their great-grandpa Bill Alley discovered.

My coffee pot broke. My first instinct was to get on Amazon and see how long a new one would take to get here because I sure as heck was not traveling anywhere anytime soon and as if anywhere in TL sells them...then I thought of Bart’s. Of course he had one!

Tell them, before it’s too late

One day a teacher asked her students to list the names of the other students in the room on two sheets of paper, leaving a space between each name. Then she told them to think of the nicest thing they could say about each of their classmates and write it down.

Coming out the other side

Gratitude for grandparents

A three-pound baby entered the world in recent days. This precious child was born after his Mom spent seven weeks in the hospital on bed rest. At home, Dad and two siblings were working, going to school, and worrying.

Community of Eagle Butte begins COVID ‘lockdown’

Cheyenne River Sioux Tribal Chairman Harold Frazier’s executive order locking down the community of Eagle Butte for 10 days went into effect shortly after midnight on Monday, Nov. 23 and will remain in place until Wednesday, Dec. 3.
