We would like to thank the Moreau-Grand board of directors for naming us Neighbor of the Year” and the nice comments written by Roger Lawien. Due to the COVID 19, we chose not to attend the annual meeting. But an honor like this is deeply appreciated, especially if you are not sure you deserved it.

It happens so gradually that we tend not to notice when our kids grow up, and in the process, something about them changes. My young daughter had complained about her smile… something we noticed but failed to see as she did, from her side of the mirror, so off to the orthodontist we went.

Tribal Health Task Force sets Halloween guidelines

The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe’s Emergency Command Center on Tuesday issued its guidance for celebrating Halloween during the COVID-19 pandemic, which basically says stay home with immediate members of the family and forget about everything else.

What’s true? What should we believe?

There’s sure been a lot of new buzzwords and catch phrases this year, haven’t there? In the beginning of 2020, phases such as: “We’re all in this together,” “The new normal,” and “In these uncertain times” dominated news and advertising.

Vantage Point

As a classroom teacher, I often ask students about their performance in last night’s game. If the team lost, the student invariably says “We got beat” or “We didn’t do so well.” I often wonder, wherever did they get that idea? At a tournament the other day, our team did lose.
