What’s true? What should we believe?

There’s sure been a lot of new buzzwords and catch phrases this year, haven’t there? In the beginning of 2020, phases such as: “We’re all in this together,” “The new normal,” and “In these uncertain times” dominated news and advertising.

As a classroom teacher, I often ask students about their performance in last night’s game. If the team lost, the student invariably says “We got beat” or “We didn’t do so well.” I often wonder, wherever did they get that idea? At a tournament the other day, our team did lose.

Mobridge teen dies in one-vehicle crash

Emily Holzer, 16, of Mobridge died Tuesday, September 15 in a onevehicle crash in Mobridge. She was southbound on 10th Avenue West, driving a 1997 Ford F150 pickup just before 10 p.m. CT when she lost control of the vehicle and it flipped.

Court date slated for Dakota Access appeal

The D.C. Circuit Court will hear arguments in the Dakota Access Pipeline appeal on Nov. 4, setting the stage for a ruling on the future of the project by the end of the year or shortly thereafter.
