A project began on Monday, March 18, on the Highway 63 bridge over the Cheyenne River south of Eagle Butte in Haakon and Ziebach counties that is expected to last into early fall.
Work will include replacing the bridge joints, grinding the bridge deck, sealing the deck with a polymer to prevent infiltration of water, and adding de-icing chemicals into the concrete to increase skid resistance.
