A member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe who teaches elementary school in Rapid City has been named the Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation’s 2023 Educator of the Year. The honor went to Jonni Hertel and includes a $1,000 grant to the library or programs of her choice that help students in Rapid City area schools.
