Eagle Butte cowgirl captures state

    CeCe Cowan of Eagle Butte captured top honors in pole bending at the South Dakota Jr. High School Rodeo Finals held Friday through Saturday, May 17-19, in Rapid City.

    Cowan, a sixth grader at Timber Lake School, was crowned state champ after times of 20.665 and 20.583 seconds in the poles while also garnering sixth place overall in barrel racing with runs of 14.816 and 14.027 seconds, respectively.
