- Danialle Rose of Hot Springs (LEFT) found the event an opportunity to talk with others to help with her historical research on the Diamond A Cattle Company. Frankie Thompson (RIGHT), who took part in the program when the White Horse Winter Count was first presented to the White Horse community in 2008, spoke at the grand opening.
- Dr. Brad Tennant, who recently moved from teaching history at Presentation College in Aberdeen to a similar position at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, spoke about the importance of keeping history. As then-president of the S.D. State Historical Society, he was present at the December, 2008 program at White Horse when the winter count and the narrative recorded by Florence Thwing were presented.
