A 28-year-old Wakpala woman woman will spend three years in federal prison after being sentenced Monday, Sept. 30, for her conviction for child abuse. She was immediately remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.

Former amateur boxer given five years for voluntary manslaughter

A 48-year-old former amateur boxer from McLaughlin was sentenced to federal prison last Monday, Sept. 30, for voluntary manslaughter after being convicted of punching a man who eventually died from his injuries.
