Horizon Health Care providing free services to school district

Beginning with the 2024-25 school year, Horizon Health Care will provide preventative care and health education to Timber Lake School students and staff at no cost to the school district.Those services were previously provided by Dewey County Health Nurse Mary Harris.

School began at McIntosh and Dupree this week, and Timber Lake students will return to the classrooms next Tuesday, August 20.At McIntosh, classes began on Wednesday, August 14 with PreK12 enrollment at 120, similar to last spring’s.

One of the two old Isabel grain elevators owned by CHS River Plains was demolished on Tuesday, Aug. 13, by Miller Construction. The other is slated to be knocked down next week. Neither of the 100-foot grain cribs has been in service since 2010 and both were condemned shortly thereafter.
