Cancer Walk for Ann

The Timber Lake Middle School raised $7,392.50 for Ann Crance at the Cancer Walk on May 10. A check was presented to Ann by student council members and volunteers.

Homeless count tallies 1338

On January 23, South Dakota Housing for the Homeless Consortium (SDHHC), an affiliate of South Dakota Housing, conducted its annual statewide Point-in-Time (PIT) homeless count and Housing Inventory Count (HIC).

Postal Service to ‘pause’ downgrade of S.D. operations

The U.S. Postal Service has agreed to “pause” until at least next year a controversial plan to downgrade post office operations in Sioux Falls and Huron to local processing centers, joining similar implementation delays in other states.

Olivia and Liam are once again America’s most popular baby names, with 2023 being the fifth consecutive year that parents have chosen the monikers for their little ones. Also for the fifth consecutive year, Noah took the second slot for boys, and Emma for girls.

Awards presented at FFA banquet

The Dupree High School FFA, advised by Doug Hofer, recently held their annual banquet. President Trinity Leithauser welcomed guests and Treasurer Wyatt Lemke did the invocation. After the meal, awards were presented, and volunteers were honored and presented with gift cards from the FFA.

Dupree HS Class of 2024 honored with star quilts

The Dupree High School Class of 2024 was honored at the Lakota Honoring and 8th Grade Graduation, which was sponsored by the Dupree JOM Committee and Dupree School. They enjoyed a meal, a drum group, guest speaker JH/HS Principal Mr. Russell Budmayr, and a blessing from Richard Charging Eagle.
