Jared Hollenbeck and Kyrie Lemburg went to Lemmon to watch Mason Hollenbeck play in the Border Bash basketball tournament. Bill Phillips played in the Aberdeen Open pool tournament this weekend. The team he was on got fourth place in the silver division consolation.

TL youth snag five firsts at Vance Hawley ‘All Heart’ Memorial Wrestling Tournament

The Timber Lake Youth Wrestling Club collected five first place finishes at the Vance Hawley “All Heart” Memorial Wrestling Tournament in Faith on Sunday, Feb. 25. All 12 of the participating Timber Lake wrestlers finished fourth or better in their respective divisions.

Youth wrestling dual set Thursday in Timber Lake

The Timber Lake Youth Wrestling Club will host its first-ever wrestling dual on Thursday, Feb. 29, beginning at 4 p.m. in the old gymnasium at the Timber Lake School. Wrestlers from Timber Lake, Mobridge and Dupree will participate in the event.

Fish uncooperative at Little Moreau derby

The ice was a little suspect in some places and so were the fish, resulting in a limited catch at the Fourth Annual Little Moreau Ice Fishing Tournament held Sunday, Feb. 25, at the Little Moreau State Recreation Area south of Timber Lake.

Veteran educator hired as new Dupree School superintendent

Brent Mareska, a former Timber Lake High School teacher and current superintendent/principal/activities director at Tiospaye Topa School in LaPlant, has been hired as the new superintendent of the Dupree School. Mareska succeeds Supt.

Timber Lake teacher contract negotiations slated to start March 14

As has become custom, representatives of the certified and classified Timber Lake School staff made presentations to the school board on Feb. 14 in advance of contract negotiations for the 2024-25 school year.
