The sixth grade class at McIntosh Elementary School was named a winner in the North Dakota Dept. of Transportation’s latest Name the Snowplow contest. The students chose WhiteoutWarrior, which will be placed on the snowplow. The students also got the opportunity to autograph a snowplow.

Charges against NDN Collective CEO dropped

Prosecutors in Pennington County have dismissed charges against a prominent Indigenous rights advocate.Charges stemming from a 2022 incident against Nick Tilsen, CEO and founder of NDN Collective, have been dropped, the Pennington County State’s Attorney’s office announced Monday.

Correction

An article in last week’s Topic (March 19, 2026) stated that Elementary Principal Sarah Schweitzer had recommended Option 2 for the new playground. She corrected that statement, saying, “I had no recommendation on which option but just presented it.” We apologize for the error.
