MOA clears path for water system improvement project

The Timber Lake City Board has approved a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, the S.D. Dept. of Ag and Natural Resources (DANR) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regarding the planned demolition of the city’s water tower.

Corson County Sheriff Alan Dale February 5 8:25 a.m. responded to Highway 20, west of Trail City for property left on the Highway. 9:18 p.m. responded to a residence in McLaughlin for a welfare check. February 6 9:44 a.m. received a report of a stolen vehicle from a residence in McLaughlin.

Dupree High School had three students compete in the Region 6 Solo/ Small Group Music Contest in Mobridge on February 7 and all three brought home the highest rating of Superior.

Students design logos for Cheyenne River Farm to School program

The Cheyenne River Farm to School program gave students an opportunity to create a logo design that will be the brand of CRST Farm to School for years to come. From that contest three winners were chosen and others that had participated were recognized with sweatshirts.

News from past issues of the Timber Lake and Isabel newspapers Isabel Dakotan February 13, 1964 Fire destroyed the Farmers Coop Elevator in Dupree. Approximately 15,000 bushels of grain went up in smoke, plus the entire elevator structure. The loss could be in the neighborhood of $150,000.
