Corson County Sheriff Alan Dale January 16 9:39 a.m. assisted a citizen in McLaughlin with unlocking their vehicle. 4:49 p.m. responded to a house fire in McLaughlin. January 17 1:42 p.m. responded to a residence in McLaughlin for a domestic situation.

DOH offering grants for EMS

The SD Department of Health has a new grant opportunity for Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to support the sustainability of these critical services. The initial grant application period is from Jan. 16 through March 15. A second grant funding opportunity will be announced later this summer.

Timber Lake Elementary Tylyn Gill - 4th Grade The fourth grade students did research both in the classroom and at home to determine the meaning of their names. My Name My name is Cheyienna Sioux Nygaard. My mom named me after my sister Chyanne. My name means Red Speakers in Native American.

Local students make NSU lists

Northern State University in Aberdeen honored students for being listed on the President and Dean Lists during the fall 2023 semester. Jastyn Rousseau of Eagle Butte and Kenna Webb of Timber Lake are included in the President’s List.

Two local students on LATC President’s List

Lake Area Technical College in Watertown announces the 2023 Fall President’s List. Local students include Dawson Jewett, son of Iyonne Jewett of Timber Lake, and Caleb Bieber, son of Ben and Tiffinee Bieber of Trail City. Both are 2023 graduates of Timber Lake High School.

Olivia Linderman on UM Dean’s List

More than 1,100 students were recognized for their high academic performance during the 2023 fall semester at University of Mary, Bismarck, ND by being named to the Dean’s List. Olivia Linderman, daughter of Jan and Deb Linderman, of Timber Lake, was included in the list.
