As many of you are aware, the Dewey County Conservation District has become active. Citizens stepped up to revive the board in late summer of 2022. The board of supervisors is comprised of chair Jim Petersen, vice-chair Jerimiah Garon, Arden Petersen and Ed Ducheneaux. One position remains vacant.

Ryman LeBeau, chairman of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe (CRST), issued a public statement last Tuesday, Nov. 21, criticizing the Dupree School Board over its handling of a Halloween costume incident at the school at the end of October and calling for a public apology.
