200 Club Drawings

The Sacred Heart Parish of Dupree held their monthly 200 Club drawings on Sunday, November 19 at the church hall following Holy Mass & potluck supper. Winners of the drawings were: $50–Minda Woodward, Dupree, and Fr. J. P.

At Holy Rosary, there was Sunday brunch to celebrate Father Dan's Juelfs’ 50th year of priesthood. Bill and Marchell Phillips played pool in Lemmon on Saturday and attended the Holiday Craft Fair there. On Sunday they visited with family and had Thanksgiving dinner at Wayne and Diana Holzer’s.

Another phase of the Dakota Plex project at Timber Lake has been completed as Three Seasons Construction finished the concrete for the crawl spaces last week. Delivery of the two three-bedroom units being purchased from the S.D. Housing Authority is scheduled for the spring of 2024.
The first two of four tiny homes being built at the YMCA of the Seven Council Fires (Sioux YMCA) Rising Star Community site in Dupree are in place with just the interiors to be finished. A project started by the Dupreebased YMCA of the Seven Council Fires in 2021 to provide muchneeded transitional emergency housing for local families in crisis took another big step forward in October.

TL School survey indicates interest in move to 4-days

Responses to a community input survey conducted by the Timber Lake School District earlier this year indicate growing support for moving from a five-day to a four-day school week. Supt. Dan Martin reviewed the results with school board members during their monthly meeting last Wednesday, Nov. 15.
