Mark Peacock, a science teacher at Dupree High School, won the only national-level award available for school teachers from the American Association of Forensic Sciences (AAFS). The Warren Young Scholarship provides $3,000 for his forensic science class.

A pair of bulls raised by Dallas Schott of McLaughlin for Sutton Rodeos - including a son of the famed Bushwhacker - have earned top honors on the PRCA Badlands Circuit, with one being crowned Bull of the Year and another named the Bull of the Finals.
