On 8/7/2023 at 3:58 pm, the Corson County Sheriff ’s Office assisted BIA Police with a fight in front of a business in McLaughlin. On 8/7/2023 at 8:34 pm, the Corson County Sheriff ’s Office responded to a disturbance at a residence in McLaughlin.

The McLaughlin School District heads into the 2023-24 school year with two new people leading the way - Dr. Lynn Lawson and Brenda Kosters - district superintendent and business manager, respectively.

SDCA regional roundup August 28

A regional roundup meeting will be hosted by the South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association (SDCA) on Monday, Aug. 28, beginning at 11:30 a.m. CT at Rick’s Cafe in Mobridge. The meeting will include a meal followed by issue discussions, industry information and policy updates from SDCA leadership.

Coal Springs Antique Club to host 25th threshing bee

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Coal Springs Threshing Bee, which will be held Sept. 22-24 at the threshing bee grounds located on SD Highway 73, two miles south of the Meadow corner.

Dupree cowgirl Shantell Brewer grabbed all the honors at an INFR circuit rodeo in Rocky Boy, MT, recently, winning the long round, short round and shoot out on her way to claiming the average and All-Around honors.
