Daycare needs state certified director to continue operation

Timber Lake Community Daycare is facing a crisis and needs help on several fronts. First and foremost is to hire a certified staff person. A person with a Child Development Associate (CD) credential or equivalent is required to maintain the daycare’s state certification from the S.D. Dept.

reported the town of Isabel received $1,247,039 from a state revolving loan fund to help finance a more than $2 million sewer improvement project. That amount is the total that was received through the fund, with $828,204 being a loan and the other $391,500 in the form of a grant.

On 5/15/2023 at 1:01 pm conducted a welfare check on a female and small child that were sitting on the side of the road on Highway 12, eight miles east of McIntosh. On 5/16/2023 at 11:23 am, conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 12, six miles east of McIntosh for speed.

Halsey Hall is first Native American to become Chief Warrrant Officer Five in SD Nationall Guard

The South Dakota Army National Guard promoted Halsey Hall of Rapid City to the rank of Chief Warrant Officer Five during a ceremony at Crazy Horse Monument on Saturday, April 29. Chief warrant officer five is the highest rank achievable in the warrant officer corps.

USDA mails Ag survey to farmers and ranchers

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) is collecting data from approximately 1,600 South Dakota farmers and ranchers for the first phase of the 2023 Agricultural Resource Management Survey (ARMS). Surveys should already be arriving in their mail boxes.
