USDA extends June 2 deadline

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is extending the deadline for the Emergency Relief Program (ERP) Phase Two and Pandemic Assistance Revenue Program (PARP) to July 14, 2023, to give producers more time to apply for assistance. The original deadline was June 2.

200 Club gives away money in drawings

The Sacred Heart Parish of Dupree held their monthly 200 Club drawings on May 21 following Mass and brunch. Winners were $50 - Matthew Schad, Lantry, and Evelyn Anderson, Dupree; $25 - Austin Trask, Elm Springs; Curtis Simon, Eagle Butte; Evelyn Newman, Sturgis; and Rikkie Schad, Lantry.

Kraft inks 4-year contract with Packers

Timber Lake native Tucker Kraft came to terms last week with the Green Bay Packers on a rookie contract, according to the NFL Transaction Wire. Kraft, 22, was the 78th overall pick in the third round of the NFL Draft.

Exchange students grateful for year of new experiences

I am from a big town in Italy (Grosseto) so the size and the location of Timber Lake made me think that this was going to be a terrible year. Never idea has been more wrong.
Strange Catch You never know what your fishing line might bring in. Just ask Nathan Hollenbeck. He pulled this rare soft-shelled turtle out of the Grand River during a fishing excursion last week. Cross Trail Blazers 4-H Club holds April, May meetings

The April meeting of the Cross Trail Blazers 4-H Club was held on April 20 at 3:30 at the Timber Lake Community Center. The meeting was called to order by Vice President Glen Mowrer. Glen also led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance and the 4-H Pledge. There were 18 members in attendance.
