The gift of kidney donation

The first successful organ transplant was a kidney transplant in 1954. The donor was the identical twin of the recipient. The new kidney worked for 11 months. This was long before any anti-rejection medications were available.

Schuler recognized for managing more than 60 blood drives

A mini-reunion of former Timber Lake High School classmates occurred on May 9 at the Prairie Sunset Village in Mobridge when Anna Mae Opp Heseltine (LEFT) of Eatonville, WA was in the area. She had visited her sisters-in-law, Dorothy Opp and Nyla Opp of Timber Lake.

Tally Katus of Watauga has been named to the University of Jamestown’s Spring 2023 Dean’s List for maintaining a semester GPA of 3.50 or better.

Bill would create charter for National American Indian Veterans group

U.S. Senators Mike Rounds (R-SD) and Ben Ray Lujan (DNM), both members of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, spearheaded a group of 34 fellow-senators who introduced bipartisan legislation this week to create a congressional charter for the National American Indian Veterans (NAIV).
