Corson County Sheriff Alan Dale April 17 10:28 p.m. responded to a car vs. deer accident on Highway 1806 north of the Singing Bridge. April 18 3:43 p.m. responded to a private property accident in McLaughlin. 4:34 p.m. responded to a report of a burglary at a residence in McLaughlin.

Timber Lake seniors garner $421,400 in scholarships for higher education

With more awards expected, Timber Lake High School Counselor Shanna Martin reported on May 4 that members of the Class of 2023 had received offers of $421,400 in scholarship awards. (Some students received offers from more than one college and there were many individual and local scholarships.

Veterans invited to ‘What’s Brewing’ event

The South Dakota Department of Veterans Affairs will be hosting “Coffee and Conversation” programs in Mobridge. Working in partnership with Walworth County Veterans Service Officer Peter Weinzirl, the Department welcomes the opportunity to visit one-on-one with veterans and see what’s brewing.

Twila Schuler will be recognized as the 2022 Historian of the Year by the Ziebach County Historical Society at the ZCHS History Center on Sunday, May 21 at 1 p.m. A letter of nomination was submitted to the ZCHS Board of Directors during their April meeting.
