Correction

A story about the Dewey County officials who were recently sworn in (Topic, page 1, January 12) contained an error regarding terms of office. The term for Treasurer Colleen Meier is two years since she is completing the term of Mikki Veit, who resigned.

School to seek grant funding for facilities

As part of continuing efforts to upgrade and improve its facilities, the Timber Lake School District is collaborating with Johnson Controls, Inc. of Sioux Falls to pursue federal grant funds for up to $5 million in energy-saving building projects. School board members voted Jan.

The Timber Lake City Board has one vacancy this year; the seat is presently held by Jess Schlosser. The Isabel Town Board has two vacancies for seats held by Ryan Maher and Dan Gifford. All terms are three years.

Isabel trustees raise pay, sets service fees

Employee wages and the rates charged for various services were among just a handful of agenda items the Isabel Board of Trustees dealt with in a short meeting on Friday, Jan. 6. After reviewing its current payroll, the board okayed an 8 percent increase in hourly wages for town employees.
