TLRA elects directors

The Timber Lake Rodeo Association elected Shaun Maher president at its annual meeting on December 21. He replaces Richard Gross. Derek Long is vice-president, Brent Schweitzer is treasurer, and Rusty Gebhardt is secretary. Other directors are Mark Leibel, Terry Aberle and Patrick Maher.

The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe (CRST) Prairie Management building on the south side of Eagle Butte was completely destroyed by fire last Tuesday, Dec. 27. Michael Claymore, director of the Prairie Management department, was reportedly injured in the blaze and was hospitalized.

Maddoc Boysen of Isabel makes the most of this year’s snowfall and what’s left of holiday vacation from school by getting some time sledding on the slopes ... er, snow piles around town on Saturday, Dec. 31. This year’s snowfall has already doubled what the area received all of last winter.

Corson County Sheriff Alan Dale December 19 2:06 p.m. responded to a single vehicle rollover accident on Highway 12, three miles east of the Perkins County line. 4:48 p.m. responded to a car vs. pedestrian accident on Highway 1806, two miles south of the Wakpala School. December 21 11:49 a.m.
