CRST Election Board disqualifies Dist. 1 winner

The Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe (CRST) Election Board has disqualified a candidate who won a seat representing District 1 on the tribal council in the November general election after determining he resides just 2,400 feet outside the district boundary.

On 11/28/2022 at 4:14 pm, received a report of stolen cattle from a field north of Timber Lake. On 11/29/2022 at 12:41 am, responded to a domestic assault at a residence in McLaughlin. On 11/29/2022 at 1:20 am, located a hitch hiker, on Highway 12, one mile east of McLaughlin.
