Candidate Lyon says: No recount

South Dakota District 28A State House candidate Ralph Lyon of Meadow will not request a recount, following a 43-vote difference in the vote tally for himself and incumbent Oren Lesmeister of Parade. The vote was 1890 for Lesmeister amd1847 for Lyon.

No vehicle titles to be printed until further notice

Due to paper supply issues, the South Dakota Department of Revenue’s Motor Vehicle Division has stopped printing paper titles effective immediately. In a press release, the Department stated, “The paper used for printing titles is very unique as it has built in security features to prevent fraud.

Musicians gather

Singers and accompanists from the Holy Cross and Holy Rosary Catholic parishes were treated to a social hour and evening meal on Sunday, November 13 at the St. Joseph’s Center. The event is held annually, this year it honored St. Cecilia, the patron saint of singers, musicians, authors and students.

Happenings at the Dewey County Library

The time change gives us an earlier sunset and more time to read. We have a large selection of children’s Thanksgiving books and John Vanderhoof has donated several boxes of adult mystery books to check out. November is Native American Heritage Month.
