Farmers Union celebrates Dewey County ranch family

When their three boys were young, Bryan Spiel splurged on a 1969 Chrysler boat. It was $1,000 and came with everything needed to water-ski. “That’s all the boys wanted to do. Not go to town or the movies, they wanted to go to the water – all the neighbor’s kids were the same way,” Bryan said.

Mental health strategies brought to DHS

It was National Mental Health Awareness Week Oct. 3-8 and Dupree School wore green in support for mental health awareness and students in grades 6-12 attended presentations by Cathy Simonds, who works for the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) and serves schools that request information.

Candidates named for Dewey, Ziebach County FSA elections

Dewey County LAA 2 Toby Keller is nominated in LAA 2, Dewey County, to serve as County Committee member for a 3-year term beginning January 1, 2023. Toby is a lifelong resident of LAA 2 and has produced Corn, Sunflowers, Small Grains, and Forages. He is also a cow/calf producer.

Ziebach bus tour set for Saturday

If you haven't already reserved your seat for the Ziebach County Historical Society's Southeast Ziebach County Bus Tour you have a couple of days to do so. The tour, guided by hometown historian Donovin Sprague, with added features from Darla Vrooman, is scheduled for Saturday, October 15.
