Commissioners handle other business

The Dewey County Commission, meeting on October 6, handled other business in addition to hearing about a proposed regional jail in Aberdeen (See story on page 1). The commissioners sent a law enforcement agreement with the Town of Isabel back for another change.

McLaughlin, Bison, Faith awarded funds for water system improvements

The South Dakota Dept. of Agriculture and Natural Resources announced last Thursday, Oct. 6, that it has awarded more than $950,000 to the community of McLaughlin to replace its aging water main system, while the communities of Bison and Faith received $1.6 million and $1.

Fitzgerald is candidate for Circuit Judge

John H. Fitzgerald of Saint Onge is a candidate for Circuit Court Judge in the Fourth Judicial Circuit, which includes the counties of Butte, Corson, Dewey, Harding, Lawrence, Meade, Perkins, and Ziebach.

Corson Co. criminal enforcement operation nets fugitives, felonies

In coordination with the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) and the BIA Division of Drug Enforcement, the North Central South Dakota Multi-Jurisdictional Criminal Enforcement Team conducted an operation in Corson County last Wednesday, Oct. 5.
