Library Happenings: Read more in 2026

If your New Years resolution was to read more in 2026, stop in at the library and check out some books or movies. I’ve been busy weeding through books and have lots of FREE books available.The following are some books and DVD Movies that have recently been added to the libraries inventory.

January 8, 1976 First 1976 vehicle license plates go to Joe Fisher of Timber Lake Joe Fisher purchased the first car and first truck license plates again, as he has for many years, but the second car plate, 1001, which had been the sheriff’s for many years, was bought by Tom Goldade, Timber Lake.

Dupree to host “Poetry on the Road”

On Sunday, March 8 Dupree is hosting “Poetry on the Road” at the high school music room from 2-4 p.m. People are invited to come and listen to and/or share some of their own poetry. Snacks will be on hand for everyone.

A baby girl, Ruby Patrick, was born to Troy and Kristin Long of Timber Lake on December 3, 2025, in Bismarck, ND.Ruby weighed 8 lbs. and 3 ozs. and measured 20 inches long at birth. She joined her siblings – Vern, Charlie, Drew, and Kodi.

Multi-district board set to divide former NWAS mobile classrooms

The distribution of Northwest Area Schools mobile classrooms among member schools was determined by the NWAS Multi-District Board, which met on January 7.Timber Lake is to get its first choice - the Welding/Metal Fabrication van - when NWAS dissolves on June 30.
