Tracey Zephier, Attorney General of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe (CRST), informed tribal officials on Tuesday, May 3, that she intends to resign her position effective June 17.

Bridges to be named after two Dewey County ‘Fallen Heroes’

Another dozen of South Dakota’s armed forces veterans who were killed in action or remain missing will have highway bridges named for them this year, including two from Dewey County.

Culvert repair on Hwy. 12 and 20 begins

The South Dakota Dept. of Transportation (SDDOT) began work on culvert repairs on Monday, May 2, on U.S. Highway 12 from Selby to Mobridge and on S.D. Highway 20 from Trail City to the U.S. Highway 12 junction west of Mobridge.

Educators Rising to host signing for two TLHS seniors on Friday, May 6

The Timber Lake High School chapter of Educators Rising will hold a signing ceremony on Friday morning, May 6 for two seniors who plan to enter the teaching profession. Michaela Alley (Hoyt) and Cassie Harris will be signing letters of intent in the Middle School Commons at 7:45 a.m.

McIntosh Daycare, after six months in operation, to host Mother’s Day dinner

A year after a group of concerned McIntosh-area residents gathered to address the need for a local daycare operation and just over six months after opening one, the McIntosh Community Daycare is doing well and currently looking after nine children.

Suicide Awareness
