Drought meeting May 11 in Faith

SDSU Extension will host drought management meetings on Wednesday, May 11 in Faith and Belle Fourche. The Belle Fourche meeting is from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Branding Iron Steakhouse and the Faith meeting will be from 3-6 p.m. at the Faith American Legion Hall.

You can’t vote if you aren’t registered

Voting for the June 7 South Dakota Primary Election has begun. Ballots are being cast with county auditors since absentee voting began on April 22. But you can’t vote if you aren’t registered. A notice on page 13 reminds voters that the deadline for voter registration is 5 p.m. on Monday, May 23.

Sergeant Michael Varilek and his K9 partner, Taz, of the Corson County Sheriff’s Office, completed their Narcotic Detector Dog Recertification in Rapid City last Thursday, April 21. Other agencies involved in the recertification were the South Dakota Highway Patrol, Rapid City Police Dept.
