Traxingers donate beef

The McLaughlin School District recently received a generous donation from Bryant and Marlene Traxinger of Little Eagle. The Traxingers donated a head of beef from their ranch to the school lunch program. The beef will be prepared in various recipes for student lunches.

Chase Marshall receives DSU Presidential Champion Scholarship

Chase Marshall of Timber Lake was recently awarded the DSU Presidential Champion Scholarship at Dakota State University in Madison. The scholarship is awarded to highachieving students based on ACT scores and high school GPA.

Timber Lake School music concerts set

The Timber Lake middle school and high school concert will be in the theater Tuesday, May 3 starting at 7 p.m.

McIntosh announces honor roll

The McIntosh School placed 36 students on the honor roll for the third quarter of the 2021-2022 school year, including 26 who earned high honors. To earn high honors, students must achieve a 3.5-4.0 grade point average. To be named to the honor roll, students must have a 3.0- 3.

Fifteen people, including a representative of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe, have been appointed to serve on a state Dept. of Education workgroup tasked with reworking the social studies standards used in schools.
