With three candidates for sheriff, Dewey County Democrats will have a primary election on June 7 — the only primary contest in the threecounty area. The line-up for the November general election is still taking shape, as Independent candidates have until April 26 to file petitions.

April sobriety checkpoints

April’s list of statewide sobriety checkpoints has been announced by the South Dakota Department of Public Safety. The monthly checkpoints are designed to encourage people not to drink and then drive.

Isabel board okays changes to ordinance, drug policy

The Isabel Board of Trustees had a short but productive meeting on Monday, April 4, dealing mostly with amendments and changes to its animal ordinance and employee drug and alcohol policy.
