‘Odd Places to Read a Book Contest’ to award prizes for most creative photos, reports from youth ages 8-18

It’s exciting times in Dewey County! Odd Places to Read a Book Contes is on! What is the contest about? It is to reinforce the book reading culture in our county. This contest wil renew our youth interest in reading.

McDaniel wins Miss Arizona Teen title

Chessa McDaniel, Dupree High School Class of 2020 graduate, recently earned the title of Royal International Miss Arizona Teen. McDaniel, the daughter of Kim and Don McDaniel, is a sophomore majoring in Architecture and Studio Design Art at Arizona State University.

On Stage: Middle School groups compete in lip sync battle

Timber Lake Middle School students competed last week in the annual Lip Sync Contest. In the first round, sixth, seventh and eighth grade performances were judged and the top groups from each grade advanced to the finals.

A number of new hires have joined the team at the Dewey County Courthouse in Timber Lake in recent months. Here is an office-by-office review of who is where - serving the public. New VSO Kevin Dyda is the new Veteran Service Office, replacing Jerry Keller, who resigned the position.
