Outlook for pheasant season looks promising

After three days of resident-only hunting, South Dakota’s traditional pheasant hunting season kicks off on Saturday, Oct. 16, and the numbers in terms of bird population and local economic impact are more than promising.

Accident claims life of Isabel business owner Jim Boldt

An all-terrain vehicle accident near Firesteel claimed the life of local business owner and community leader James “Jim” Boldt, 71, on Saturday. According to Dewey County Sheriff Dan Assman, his office was called to the scene near Boldt's home west of Firesteel at 4:56 p.m. on Oct. 2.

Fall Festival
