Book discussion set for October 27

The Dewey County Library recently completed the South Dakota Humanities Council 2021 One Book South Dakota reading program. The book, The Children's Blizzard by Melanie Benjamin, was read by 30-plus people.

ALA to meet October 12

The Timber Lake American Legion Auxiliary will meet on Tuesday, October 12 at 4:30 p.m. at the Timber Lake Community Center. District 1 president Carol Edwards will be attending.

At AISES Conference

This group represented Timber Lake High School at the National American Indian Science and Engineering Society (NAISES) Conference in Phoenix, AZ Sept. 22-25.

Monday holiday

Monday, October 11 is Columbus Day, a federal holiday, and Native American Day, a state holiday in South Dakota. Government offices, banks, and post offices will be closed. Locally, most businesses will be open.
