Sylvia Mowrer bought the winning $20 ticket for the Timber Lake Volunteer Fire Department’s Thanksgiving raffle, good for a trip to the Green Bay Packers-Minnesota Vikings football game on January 4. The package includes four tickets (valued at $400 each) plus $500 cash for rooms and travel.

When Elizabeth Sudmeier was growing up in Timber Lake, attending St. Joseph Catholic School, she had no idea she would one day become a spy for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

SDCF awards $1.2M to 14 non-profits

Fourteen South Dakota nonprofits will receive grants totaling nearly $1.2 million from the South Dakota Community Foundation's Beyond Idea Grant (BIG) program, with two recipients using the funds to enhance or expand services in and around Dewey County.
