School opening with few restrictions

The 2021-22 school year at Timber Lake got underway with the first day of classes on Wednesday, Aug. 18. Under the Stay the Course Plan, virtual school will not be offered this year unless there is a major outbreak of COVID-19 cases that requires a change.

Hwy. 20 resurfacing project slated to begin next week

The South Dakota Dept. of Transportation (SDDOT) says crews will begin asphalt resurfacing operations next week for 30 miles on S.D. Highway 20 from Prairie City to Meadow Corner, with work expected to continue until late October. The $8.

Historical Society awards community scholarships

The Timber Lake & Area Historical Society has awarded three $3000 Community Scholarships for the fall of 2021. The recipients are Courtney Dahlgren, Hayley Leibel and Taylor Goldade.

Ray Lenk honored by Dupree community

Ray Lenk, long time resident of the Dupree community, was honored with a farewell open house on Saturday, August 14 at the Sacred Heart Church. His family and many friends of Dupree and surrounding communities attended the event. Lenk has recently moved to Pierre.

Ziebach County FSA announces Roxie Stambach’s retirement

After 40 plus years, Roxie Stambach has retired from the Ziebach County Farm Service Agency Office in Dupree effective August 14, 2021. Roxie began her employment with ASCS/CSFA/FSA in 1981. She was first hired as a temporary employee and in 1983 became a permanent employee.
