Traffic closed on Singing Bridge

The Singing Bridge” on S.D. Highway 1806 over the Grand River is closed to all traffic while repairs are being made. The contractor anticipates having repairs completed and the bridge reopened to traffic within four weeks. Travelers will need to use an alternate route during the road closure.

Corson County extends sign-up for emergency program to July 30

Corson County has been approved for the Emergency Conservation Program to aid farmers and ranchers for water development. Due to the continuing dry conditions leaving dams, dug outs and water holes dry, Corson County has extended the deadline to sign up to July 30, 2021.

Ranch Rodeo Series continues July 17

The second installment of the Grand River Ranch Rodeo Series is slated for Saturday, July 17, in Mobridge beginning at 5 p.m. MT. The event includes ranch bronc riding and nine teams competing in stray gathering, range branding, trailer loading, team sorting and penning. The Vigen Horse Co.

Liquor stolen from rodeo building

Fifteen bottles of liquor belonging to the Timber Lake Rodeo Association were stolen from the city-owned building the rodeo association occupies. Dewey County Sheriff Dan Assman said a TLRA member noticed a west (rear) door open at the Main Street building on May 27.

Bridge at Little Eagle to honor LCPL Jamerson

The South Dakota Dept. of Veterans Affairs will host a State Bridge Dedication Ceremony on Thursday, July 15 at 12 noon MT to honor Marine Combat Veteran Lance Corporal Kenneth Jamerson. The ceremony will be held in the Orange Striped Gym in Little Eagle.
