Patty Jo Burress and Jeremy Van Driel, both of Isabel, topped more than 500 teams in the #8.5 Saddle Up, a National Team Roping event in Rapid City this past weekend. Patty Jo and Stretch came out on top after roping three steers in 26.40 seconds worth $7,640.

In 2020, the Dahlgren Family was featured for the Ranch and Rodeo exhibit at the Timber Lake & Area Museum, and since very few people were able to visit the museum due to the pandemic, the exhibit is continuing this year.

Stormi Hulm, a 2021 graduate of Timber Lake High School, won first place in the S.D. American Legion Auxiliary’s Poppy Poster Contest. She had earlier won the local and district contests. The poster (ABOVE) first appeared in the Topic on page 1 of the May 27 issue.

Little Miss, Tiny Tot receive crowns

These young girls (ABOVE) took home the 2021 Little Miss Pioneer Days and Tiny Tot Pioneer Days titles. They collected the most donations for the Ziebach County Historical Society, which came to just over $300.

ZCHS reviews Pioneer Days events

The Ziebach County Historical Society played a big part in the Pioneer Days celebration at Dupree June 25-27. Here’s a review: 10TH ANNUAL PAGEANT The 10th annual Little Miss Pioneer Days pageant was held June 27 at Pioneer Hall. Seven girls between the ages of 2 and 7 entertained the crowd.
