FSA Update: USDA extends deadline for QLA sign-up to April 9

USDA EXTENDS APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR QLA The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is extending the deadline from March 5 to April 9 for agricultural producers to apply for the Quality Loss Adjustment (QLA) Program because of recent winter storms and some clarifications to program rules.

Stormi Hulm took advantage of her spring break from school and some sunny (but windy) weather to have a rummage sale outside her mom’s beauty shop on Friday. Stormi is a senior at Timber Lake High School.

The Knights of Columbus report very good attendance at their fish fries this year. Here Tony Russell and Kirk Beyer serve a plate to Jeanette Reinbold at Isabel last Friday. The last of the fish fries is set for March 26 at Timber Lake.

Our First Graders have been focusing on specific writing standards this semester such as opinion writing, writing biographies, and descriptive writing. We are focusing on procedural writing currently, and they found it fun to do a “how to draw” writing followed by drawing the item.

Dupree Blood Drive is March 22

A blood drive will be held on Monday, March 22 at the Catholic Church hall in Dupree. It will start at 2:30 p.m. with the last available appointments at 5:30 p.m. Donors are required to wear a mask and have a photo ID.

Esther Hahne had the company of Brian and Joy and Bianca Voegele this weekend. Bill and Lynn Hahne were at the State B basketball tournament in Huron Thursday through Saturday. They went to see their granddaughter, Lauren Grage of Selby, play. Her team placed 5th.
