Timber Lake City Board talks with Clark engineers about water project

The City of Timber Lake took another step toward a water project when board members talked with Shane Waterman and Trent Baumeister of Clark Engineering at the March 9 board meeting. Clark is conducting studies of the city’s water and wastewater systems in preparation for projects.

Correction

A front page story in the March 11 issue of the Timber Lake Topic (McLaughlin voters to determine future of alcohol sales within city) contained some errors. The mayor and his wife were incorrectly identified as David and Laurie Wurtz when they are, in fact, David and Laurie Wutzke.

Timber Lake to proceed with summer classes, no virtual learning next year

Alan Dale sworn in as Corson County Sheriff

On March 12 Corson County Sheriff Keith Gall retired after 30 years of service and turned his badge over to Deputy Alan Dale, who was appointed Sheriff by the Corson County Commissioners effective March 13. Dale has been with the Corson County Sheriff’s Office since 2011.

Farm Bureau to sponsor virtual event on how to appreciate little things in life

South Dakota Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers Committee will be hosting a one-night virtual event featuring Watertown author Mitch Reed. “How to Take Advantage of the Little Things in Life” is the title of Reed’s presentation that will take place on March 25 at 7:30 p.m. CT via Zoom.

Mobridge woman killed in accident near Watertown

A 30-year-old Mobridge woman was killed last Wednesday, March 10, in a two-vehicle crash about 10 miles south of Watertown. The accident occurred shortly before 12 noon.
