Timber Lake Spelling Bee winners headed to NWAS Contest March 24

The annual Northwest Area Schools Spelling Contest is scheduled to be held Wednesday, March 24 at the McIntosh School. Students from Bison, Dupree, Faith, Harding County, Lemmon, McIntosh, Wakpala/Smee, and Timber Lake Schools plan to participate.

Ducheneaux on SDSU Dean’s List

Morgan Ducheneaux, a 2018 graduate of Timber Lake High School, has been named to the College of Nursing Dean’s List for the fall semester at South Dakota State University in Brookings. Morgan is the daughter of Deb and Heidi Ducheneaux of Timber Lake.

Troy and Kristin Long joyfully announce the birth of their daughter, Drew Elizabeth. Drew joined the world at 1:28 a.m. on February 5, 2021 at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck, ND. She weighed 8 lbs., 14 oz. and was 19 ½ inches long.

Justin and Amaya Aberle from Mobridge were over at Chuck and Marsha Aberle’s house, along with Matthew and Adriana Aberle from Aberdeen. On Tuesday, Chuck and Marsha went to Bismarck with Tim Bollinger. Marsha was babysitting Amaya Aberle on Sunday evening and on Monday.

Dupree students will use grant to get food to local families in need

This group of Dupree High School students, who all work part-time for the Sioux YMCA, recently received one of eight grants of $9,210 to get their food program active.
