Fall Festival

Audrey Jackson, Janet Gill, and Fran Milliken filled plates at the Prairie Parish Fall Festival held November 9 at the Timber Lake Community Center. A large crowd enjoyed the ham and turkey dinner and bid on silent and live auction items.

Death of Eagle Butte teen found in park under investigation

Authorities are investigating the death of a 16-year-old girl whose body was discovered in Eagle Butte on Sunday morning, Nov. 2.According to a statement issued by the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Division, at approximately 6:35 a.m.

Lance Luitjens of Sioux Falls gave the message at the New Hope Church Wild Game Night on Saturday, November 1. A longtime friend of Pastor Bryce Schaffer, he is now vice-principal at Roosevelt High School in Sioux Falls, where he and his wife also have a ministry.

State minimum wage will increase on January 1, 2026

The minimum wage for nontipped employees in South Dakota will increase from $11.50 per hour to $11.85 per hour on Jan. 1, according to the state Department of Labor and Regulation.
